Aloha!

Still staying-at-home in Honolulu. I have plenty of time so far, because COVID-19 IS still spreading here. So I decided to publish a second book, tentatively entitled, "It All Begins with Dance," in both Japanese and English.

Before writing the book, I want to clear the difference between expository essay and research paper. So, what's the difference?

I studied writing essays and research papers in an American undergraduate college, but that was some years ago. However, in fact. I am suddenly no longer absolutely clear about the difference. I wanted to be absolutely clear.

American essays come in four different kinds: descriptive, persuasive, narrative, expository, descriptive. So, to a slightly lesser extent do research papers! Of the four, only the American Expository Essay is said to have truth-value. The same might be true of any of the other three as long as it also includes the reasoning and logic of an American Expository Essay (AEE). AEE's should demonstrate the three C's: Clear, Complete, Concise in that order of importance.

An American research paper typically includes all four kinds of AEE kinds, but must include the AEE at its base. A research paper should demonstrate three slightly different C's: Clear, Complete, Correct.

An outstanding American essay or research paper should not only have truth-value, but should, in fact, be entirely true.

Now I'm ready to finish my second edit. Also Japanese translation is not easy!
