Dan and I wake up at 6:00 am, BUT He usually gets up right after he wakes while I like to lounge about in bed in the morning.

Today, we both stayed in bed and talked about subjectivity and objectively. We talked their meanings in English and Japanese. He said Japanese words are very rich in meaning. For example, when we write a name in kanji, both the characters and their combination together have meaning, typically more than one. On the other hand, when he writes his name (Dan) using characters: D  A  N. each character is just a character without special meaning, and their combination together has no special meaning beyond being his name. Only the whole word, Dan, has meaning and it's very specific. 

American English words he says, originate not from British English but from German. Most Americans are immigrants from other countries. After moving to USA, they either assimilate American English and American culture, or don't speak American English and never learn American culture. 

For almost an hour, we discussed language. How rich a time, we spent together this morning.
